Hear OCP Musicians in performance!

2014-15 Season

The Con Grazia Wind Quintet of the OREGON CHAMBER PLAYERS present Ooh-la-LA! This concert features the sparkling music of French composers with colorful commentary by musician and French native Marc Bescond.

Pierne – Pastorale

Lefebvre – Suite, Op. 57

Debussy – Suite No. 1

Bozza – Scherzo, Op. 48

Ibert – Trois Pieces Breves

Arrieu – Quintette En Ut

Marc Bescond was born in Brittany, France and began his life-long fascination with music when he was seven years old. He started by learning solfeggio, then learned harp at the age of eight before switching to bass, the instrument he currently plays. He is Classically-trained, and studied at the Conservatory of Rennes, then Conservatories in Paris. He taught music at several Conservatories in Paris suburbs, and also enjoys teaching and sharing his love of music at several kindergartens and elementary schools in the metro Portland area, including the International Leadership Academy, and French America International School during the summer.

He is currently the principal bass player with the Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra, and frequently plays with other orchestras and small ensembles in the region as well.

Our ensemble of professional musicians, all living in the Northwest, are dedicated to bringing our audience the widest diversity of classical music in every concert we present. Every OCP performance is an elegant experience in time travel.

The OREGON CHAMBER PLAYERS has a commitment to keeping music alive and we accomplish our goals in several ways, including our Student Apprenticeship Program as well as our informative and entertaining program notes. One of the most important endeavors of our organization was the formation of the Junior Symphony of Vancouver.

All OCP concerts will be held at All Saintsí Episcopal Church located at 4033 S.E. Woodstock Boulevard in Portland. Concert time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are only $15 General and $12 student/senior
